10/17/ 16 Position Title: Instructional Designer for Information Literacy

Position Description: The Instructional Designer will actively partner with faculty and staff to programmatically integrate information literacy concepts and skills into the curriculum. Successful candidates must exhibit knowledge of current theory, practice and trends in information literacy. Outreach activities include: Co-facilitate professional development sessions on information literacy for faculty and staff; Collaborate with classroom faculty to create research assignments and design assessments for student learning outcomes based on the ACRL Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education; Partner with the college Writing Center and various academic programs and departments.

San Antonio College is one of the largest community colleges in the U.S. and is located in a thriving, urban, culturally rich environment. Integral to our mission is to ensure that students have first-year experiences in and out of the classroom that help them develop the integrated reading, writing, and research skills they need to succeed as information literate citizens, both academically and professionally. Salary: $40,000 – $45,000

Salary Comment: 12-month staff (S12)

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or a combination of relevant experience, education and training that equates to the required degree.

Degree in Computer Sciences or related field preferred.

Experience: Four years of job related experience is required.

Successful candidates must exhibit knowledge of current theory, practice and trends in information literacy.
